Minor Differences Screening + Q&A

Monday, October 14, 2013 6:00PM

SIFF Film Center in Seattle Center (next to The VERA Project)

The Vera Project’s Diversity Committee is hosting the first of its Social Justice Fall Workshop Series. This workshop is FREE and open to the public, and we’ll be screening excerpts from the film Minor Differences, a locally-produced documentary addressing race, criminality and youth imprisonment. Screening will be followed by a discussion with filmmaker Heather Dew Oaksen, and two subjects of the film. The screening coincides with Indigenous People’s Day (née Columbus Day) so the holiday can be utilized to promote discussion of social justice issues.

Thanks to SIFF for allowing us use of their theater, to VERA’s Diversity Committee, and to the team behind Minor Differences.
