The Vera Project presents Viva Vera!
Posted 02.05.2012

The Vera Project must fund-raise to earn its operating budget each year.  Fundraising is what makes us able to provide awesome shows, educational experiences, and low cost classes to the Seattle all-ages community.  After raising $40,000 for our fall fund drive (thanks to all that donated!) our next big fundraising project is the Viva Vera Gala.

Scheduled for February 18th, 2012 at 5:00 PM Viva Vera will bring two-hundred and fifty of Seattle’s best known culture-makers and community members together at the Triple Door in downtown Seattle for a hosted bar, silent and live auctions, catering by Wild Ginger (a dual plating of duck and sterak or a delicious vegan option), entertainment and more, in celebration of Vera’s role in creating a vibrant Seattle all-ages music and arts scene.

Tickets are $150 and can be purchased online at http://www.vivavera.com. This year we are pleased to welcome Presenting Sponsors Sub Pop and Bookr, who are helping underwrite the cost of the event.  Other corporate sponsors include Boeing, Pagliacci Pizza, Hard Rock and Pete Nordstrom.  To meet our goal we need each of our 250 guests to spend at least $300.  That shouldn’t be hard, though.  We have a highly coveted raffle item - $1,000 to spend at any of Linda Derschang’s Seattle establishments (that’s $250 each for Linda’s, King’s Hardware, Smith and Oddfellows!), generously donated to Vera by Linda.  The auction will feature some amazing items, like a two-night stay at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas complete with dinner, a stay in a cottage in Ireland, insider status for Seattle’s summer festivals, a cruise to the Bahamas, and dinner with a champagne toast in a secret room at the top of the Space Needle.
