It’s our second T&SF post of Fall Fund Drive, and this week we asked Vera volunteer Kristina Mageau to answer five questions about Vera. Thanks, Kristina!
How have you been involved with The Vera Project?
I have been volunteering at Vera since June. I have been going to shows at Vera off and on since its inception.
How has Vera impacted you, or helped you with your future?
Vera is such a great organization that it inspired me to create my own all-ages music venue. I have not started it yet, but I am learning all the great ways that Vera excels so that I can create a similar organization for folks in Colorado one day.
If you had access to unlimited money, name one way you would improve Vera.
If I had unlimited finances, I would put a lot of it into the silkscreen studio so that more shirts and merchandise could be created on a regular basis so that more revenue could be made in a sustainable way.
Do you have a favorite show or memory at Vera?
A favorite show at Vera was when Ian MacKaye came to talk and I was lucky enough to be the videographer that night. (Psst: the photo above features Kristina recording Ian at his Q+A sesh at Vera in September!)
In less than 5 words, describe The Vera Project.
Vera is: awesome, inspirational, innovative, creative, and community-focused.
Starting October 15th and lasting through the end of the year, The Vera Project is asking for donations to our Fall Fund Drive! Donations of any amount are a crucial part of what makes Vera work. We rely on your (monetary!) support to keep our doors open to the thousands of individuals that come here each year. Please take a moment out of your day to donate a buck or two to help Seattle’s premiere all-ages music & arts venue continue to thrive and give everyone a safe, low-priced, fun space to dance, learn, & rock!
