THE SEATTLE FOUNDATION’S THIRD ANNUAL GIVEBIG EVENT:

SAVE THE DATE! On May 15th, we are participating in Seattle’s biggest day of giving of the year!

Make your gift to The Vera Project grow with The Seattle Foundation’s GiveBIG one-day, online giving event aimed to inspire people to give generously to local nonprofit organizations, like Vera, who make your community a vibrant, vital place to live. In 2012, over 37,800 donors gave a staggering $7.43M to Seattle area non-profits through The Seattle Foundation’s GiveBIG challenge. Here’s how it works:

1.    Visit The Vera Project’s page on the GiveBIG website on Wednesday, May 15.

2.    Click Donate Now, and then click Make a credit card donation.

3.    Make a gift of any size.

That’s it! Every donation made to Vera during GiveBIG earns Vera a pro-rated portion of the GiveBIG stretch pool. The amount of the stretch depends on how much is earned in total donations on GiveBIG day and the size of the stretch pool (which totals $800,000!!!) – so the more Vera raises, the further your gift is stretched! The only catch is that, in order to count towards our giveBIG total, gifts must be made on May 15, 2013, with a credit card, through SeattleFoundation.org.

This GiveBIG opportunity will augment your support, allowing us to continue our mission as an all-ages music and art space for the Seattle area.

DONORS WIN TOO WITH THE GIVEBIG’S GOLDEN TICKET!

Between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. on May 15, The Seattle Foundation will select 10 donors at random to receive a GiveBIG Golden Ticket. The charity that received the selected donor’s gift will receive additional funds provided by The Seattle Foundation and GiveBIG’s generous sponsors. Each Golden Ticket will earn the selected donor’s nonprofit an additional $1,000. That means that a $10 donation could become a $1,010 donation, just like that!

Golden Tickets also score additional prizes for both nonprofits and donors: winners will be eligible for roundtrip airfare courtesy of Alaska Airlines and Starbucks gift cards valued at $100!

Your generous donations go straight to where they are needed most: our silkscreen studio that provides instruction and poster art your local music scene, our lighting and sound equipment and the instruction courses that accompany them, as well as maintenance of our recording studio which keeps our community a musically diverse and well-represented city. In addition, it keeps The Vera Project functioning as an all-ages music venue and art gallery space which enriches our community!
