What is the Lending Library?
If you are an active Member of The Vera Project, GZ Radio, or have participated in any Production Lab program, you are eligible to use audio, video, lighting, and other creative technical equipment from the Lending Library – for free!
Not a member? Join the VERA community! Vera Membership is a status gained by volunteering 24 or more hours a year at The Vera Project. Learn more about membership and volunteering by visiting the Get Involved page. GZ Radio has an open application process for young people interested in multi-media journalism, while Video Production Lab accept applications every year in December.

How do I rent gear?
Check out the catalog on this website to find equipment that best suits your project needs. If you’re looking for something specific, try the “Collections” tab to see specific categories. Select the item(s) you wish to borrow and a pick-up date to retrieve the equipment from The Vera Project. Pickup dates & times are:
- Wednesdays, 2pm – 6pm
- Saturdays, 11am – 3pm
As gear is limited, some items may not be available during your requested pick up date. Note that you can only rent gear for up to two weeks at a time. Once you’ve picked up your equipment, please return within fourteen days, on Wednesday or Saturday to ensure the equipment is available for the next person to use!
Lending Library Policies
To ensure the longevity and accessibility of the Lending Library, we do expect users to care for and return the equipment in a timely manner. By using this Library you are agreeing to follow the user agreements listed below:
As a member of the VERA community and equipment renter, I am responsible for:
- Using equipment in a careful and proper manner, not to be used in any way that is inconsistent with manuals (provided upon request) or specific instructions given by Vera staff;
- Returning equipment by the designated date to ensure other people are able to use the equipment in a timely manner;
- Communicating at least 48 hours in advance any request to extend equipment rentals;
- Deleting my project files prior to returning SD Cards, harddrives, or other data storage equipment;
- Reporting any loss or damage of equipment immediately to Vera staff;
- Holding Vera harmless from any claim loss or liability for property damage or personal injury related to use of equipment;
I acknowledge any careless damage, loss or failure to follow through on my responsibilities above may result in temporary or long-term suspension from lending library privileges.
