Intro to Concert Lighting introduces the basics of lighting equipment and concepts to elevate performances on Vera’s stage.

In this 2-hour workshop, students will learn about different lighting instruments, how to hang and focus lights, as well as basic lighting console operation. Programming and operating lights at a live show is what sets apart a concert venue experience. Through interactive demonstrations, students will have a practical grasp on lighting concepts and systems. Participants of the class will also gain basic fundamental knowledge of working with an artist and their lighting needs.

This class is a prerequisite for volunteering for Lighting Engineer shifts at Vera shows.

COVID-19 Safety Information

All attendees (with the exception of youth 12 and under) are required to present proof of COVID vaccination by bringing your original vaccination document or a photo/digital copy + ID to the workshop. For the duration of the workshop, attendees will be asked to wear masks, maintain social distancing where possible and sanitize hands between use of materials or equipment.
