Call for Applicants: Live Production Lab 2026 – Apply by 5/2

VERA’s Live Production Lab is a cost-free creative workforce development program that offers King County Youth ages 18-24 extensive training, experiential learning opportunities, paid work positions, and connections to careers in the local music industry and arts community. Partnered with 4culture/ Doors Open, Seattle’s Office of Arts & Culture, foundry10, and dozens of local festivals and independent music venues, The Vera Project prepares young people to take on meaningful creative production gigs upon graduation. Participants work with our teaching artists and industry experts to learn the ins-and-outs of live event production, all the way from front-of-house to backstage. Whether you want to run sound for your favorite band at VERA or manage the stage at a large-scale music festival, we’ve got you covered!

In addition to instruction and paid work on sound and stage, cohort members will be given core competency training in CPR/First Aid, emergency preparedness, de-escalation, and more, taking on VERA’s many comprehensive production classes and workshops. During the course of this program, participants will also be provided with dozens of mentorship hours, shadowing opportunities, and paid apprenticeships at various Seattle cultural events, including Georgetown Carnival, Pride Fest, concerts at Waterfront Park, Bumbershoot, and always all ages shows at The Vera Project’s main Seattle Center and Black Lodge venues. Work with us today to lead our next generation of production workers and music community leaders tomorrow!

Live Production Lab participants will receive:

  • Extensive instruction in every aspect of event production, including live sound engineering, concert lighting, house managing, and booking.
  • Hands-on experience running sound & stages via our career-connected learning practicums and job shadowing shifts at The Vera Project and partnered events.
  • Networking connections to peers, mentors and industry leaders.
  • Shadowing shifts at Vera from experienced members of VERA’s staff and show staff.
  • Paid stipends for off-site apprenticeship shifts at Summer events across Seattle.
  • Access to Vera’s staff and resources, including equipment and always all ages work positions.
