Volunteer today!

CHOOSE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE

Volunteer at Vera to choose your own creative adventure and help us build the community that you want to be a part of today! Get involved by running shows, helping out in the silkscreen and recording studios, organizing grassroots social movements, curating gallery exhibitions, launching new programs– anything you want, really.

Getting involved at Vera is easy
1

Take a Volunteer Orientation

During this 45–60 minute session, we’ll dive into Vera’s history, walk through all current volunteer roles, share details about membership and programming, and take a full tour of the space. You’ll also get set up with Shiftboard, where you’ll sign up for volunteer opportunities.

In-person orientations are required to be onboarded as a volunteer and take place every second Thursday and Saturday of the month at 4PM and 6PM

Private orientations may be offered on a case-by-case basis, subject to availability.

We are located @ the corner of Warren and Republican 305 Harrison Street, Seattle, WA 98109

Be sure to fill out a VERA Volunteer Application!

Questions? Reach out to our Community Engagement Coordinator, maya@theveraproject.org

Next Orientations:

Saturday, May 9th @ 4pm

Thursday, May 14th @ 6pm

Sign up and Get Started

As soon as your application (Volunteer Application & Shiftboard) are processed (within 2-5 days), you’ll be ready to start volunteering! Some of our current opportunities include:

  • The best place to start! Volunteer at a show at Vera Project or Black Lodge in roles like security, clean-up, or supporting the door—these positions help keep shows running smoothly and ensure a safe night for everyone

  • Join and collaborate with one of our committees, such as Steering, Veracity, Photo/Video, Screenprint/Gallery, or Audio

  • Drop by on Saturdays (10-4:30PM) for open gallery hours, check out the current exhibit, and grab a cup of coffee from our newest workforce development program, Café Vera

  • Get involved with Ground Zero Radio if you’re interested in hand-on opportunities in multi-media, broadcasting, podcasting, journalism, audio/video production, marketing, social media, event planning, and civic engagement

3

Become a Member

By pledging six volunteer hours (per quarter) and participating in one of our committees, you can become a member of The Vera Project!

Vera Members democratically lead and govern our space in collaboration with the Board of Directors, building community, creating and collaborating on programs, and guiding the big decisions that determine our shared future. As a member, you’ll run the show with your voices and votes! There may or may not be some other benefits as well. Sign up now.
