The Vera Project

This 2-hour class is an avenue for creation and community, through lenses of DIY application and self care. Using your included embroidery supply kit and zine, you’ll learn the fundamentals of embroidery which will set the foundation for any needlework project. Explore different kinds of merch, such as embroidered hats, t-shirts, flyers, and patches. Students will create an embroidered piece for themselves or to share with their community.

Information about the supply kits: The kit includes a 4 inch wooden hoop, nine different colors of floss, foldable portable scissors, self-threading and regular embroidery needles, an 11” x 12” piece of fabric, and a physical copy of the Basic Embroidery for DIY Merch zine. This comes in a small and portable zipper pouch. Embroidery kit orders are final sale.

COVID-19 Safety Information
All attendees (with the exception of youth under age 5) are required to present proof of COVID vaccination by bringing your original vaccination document or a photo/digital copy + ID to the workshop. Youth under 5 may provide a negative COVID-19 test within 48 hours of the class. For the duration of the workshop, attendees will be asked to wear masks, maintain social distancing where possible and sanitize hands between use of materials or equipment. Please do not come to Vera if you test positive for COVID-19, are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms or if you had a recent exposure to someone with COVID-19.

Accessibility Information
The media lab is located on the second floor, on the same level as the check-in desk. The venue has two floor levels. A single-person lift provides access between backstage on the first floor, the stage platform, and the recording studio on the second floor.  Patrons may also access each level by taking the outdoor ramp pathways on the north and south sides of the building. Entrance and inside doorways are not automatic and may require assistance to open. Gender neutral bathrooms are located on the first floor and include ADA accessible stalls and sinks. Please contact Levin at levin@theveraproject.org if you have questions or accommodation requests.

Classes Refund Policy
The Vera Project does not provide refunds nor reschedule tickets for other class dates. If you are no longer able to attend, you are welcome to transfer your ticket to another person through the SeeTickets platform or contact us to give your spot to one of our waitlisted scholarship recipients.
