The Vera Project

The Recording & Mixing Series is a four-week intensive class on recording music in a studio setting. With guidance from Vera’s professional studio engineers, you will work with a real band to: manage basic and advanced signal flow, select and set up different types of microphones, use EQ and compression, create a headphone mix, coach artists through studio performance, set up Pro Tools for a recording session, and various editing/mixing techniques. Students will complete this program with the knowledge, experience, and confidence to begin recording at home, at Vera, or at other studios. Other subjects include microphone techniques, building engineer-artist relationships, and critical listening.

Students should plan to attend the following four workshop sessions on Saturdays, 9am-1:30pm:

  • October 7, 2023
  • Oct 14, 2023
  • Oct 21, 2023
  • Oct 28, 2023

Pre-requisites: Students are recommended to complete Recording Studio 101 or Live Sound 101 prior to this class.
