The Vera Project, in cahoots with RATSQUATCH and our true and sincere friends, are thrilled to announce Live from our Living Room 5 – an underground music festival and fundraiser for our Very Expensive Rat Apartments running October 24-27, 2024.
Presented by RATSQUATCH with support by DistroKid & Pearl Jam’s Ten Club, this fifth iteration of our Live from our Living Room series (past headliners include Car Seat Headrest, Kimya Dawson, Waxahatchee, Jeff Rosenstock, and many more) has grown into a full four-day, seven-event festival of shows, parties, workshops, art installations, and some outlandish surprises in celebration of Seattle’s underground music and arts communities.
Live from our Living Room 5 intends to live up to its notoriety as Seattle’s 21st (?) longest running music festival during this once-in-a-lifetime blowout fronted by everybody’s least favorite cryptid intruder and featuring Algernon Cadwallader, Irene the Alien, mega cat, Alien Boy, Fell Off, four brand new bands created for Rock Lottery XIII, and so much more to be (or not to be) announced. The full scope and capacity of VERA’s youth-led, all-ages programming is the highlight of the weekend, where audiences and participants will experience our music community at its strangest and most anarchic via our two spaces, four stages, screen printing shop, recording studio, art gallery, Ground Zero Radio media network, and community-driven mutual aid and advocacy platform.
In addition to all the excitement, The Vera Project will also be fundraising for our year-round, youth-led music and arts programming through ticket sales, a weekend-long auction, costume contests, donate-what-you-can merch and prizes, and GENERATOR – a new kind of annual gala established to concretely demonstrate that sustainable fundraising need not be separate from the community it benefits.
