Exciting Educational Grant Funded by Boeing

We are proud to announce that The Vera Project is a recipient of an exciting grant from Boeing! The grant, entitled “The Vera Project Community-­Based Education Program: ­ Planning and Piloting,” will enable us to work with community partners to develop and pilot a new curriculum to be delivered to underserved young folks in their own communities at little or no cost, and empower them to create their own cultural events in true DIY Vera fashion.
The Vera Project is one of the region’s key pipelines for the music and event workforce, but merely opening our doors and inviting people in limits our reach to those who have the means to get here. We are committed to finding effective ways to connect our resources to underserved populations, especially low ­income communities and people of color. The surest way to connect to new communities is to meet them where they are, listen to their needs, and work collaboratively to build authentic, mutually beneficial partnerships.

We are grateful to Boeing for their continued support and are very excited that they’re investing in this bold new move we’re making. Stay tuned for more news and updates about this new project!
