The Vera Project

This 2-hour, comprehensive hands-on class teaches you the basics of screen printing, troubleshooting, working with fabric, and basic registration. Get comfortable with Vera’s shop layout, equipment, and culture. Learn about techniques for creating screens, terminology, and techniques to create 1-color projects in a print shop.

This class is a prerequisite for other screenprint classes at Vera and access to Open Sessions in Vera’s Screenprint Studio. Students can sign up for Studio Open Sessions to work on their own screen print projects at Vera! Open Sessions are moderated by members of the Screenprint Committee.

COVID-19 Safety Information
All attendees (with the exception of youth under age 5) are required to present proof of COVID vaccination by bringing your original vaccination document or a photo/digital copy + ID to the workshop. Youth under 5 may provide a negative COVID-19 test within 48 hours of the class. For the duration of the workshop, attendees will be asked to wear masks, maintain social distancing where possible and sanitize hands between use of materials or equipment. Please do not come to Vera if you test positive for COVID-19, are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms or if you had a recent exposure to someone with COVID-19.

Accessibility Information
The screenprint studio is located on the first floor. The venue has two floor levels, and most classes take place on the lower level. A single-person lift provides access between backstage on the first floor, the stage platform, and the recording studio on the second floor.  Patrons may also access each level by taking the outdoor ramp pathways on the north and south sides of the building. Entrance and inside doorways are not automatic and may require assistance to open. Gender neutral bathrooms are located on the first floor and include ADA accessible stalls and sinks. Please contact Levin at levin@theveraproject.org if you have questions or accommodation requests.

Classes Refund Policy

The Vera Project does not provide refunds nor reschedule tickets for other class dates. If you are no longer able to attend, you are welcome to transfer your ticket to another person through the SeeTickets platform or contact us to give your spot to one of our waitlisted scholarship recipients.
